What is Rent a Buddy?
▾
Rent a Buddy is an India-based platform that connects people with verified social companions (Buddies) for lawful meetups, events, and activities. It is strictly for social companionship — not escort or adult services.
02
Can I rent a friend online in India?
▾
Yes. On RentaBuddy you can browse ID-verified buddies online and book them for a city tour, café meetup, movie, event plus-one, travel or a virtual call. Every booking is strictly platonic and paid through escrow.
03
Is renting a friend legal in India?
▾
Yes. Booking a companion for platonic social activities — such as sightseeing, events or conversation — is a lawful service in India. RentaBuddy requires government ID verification for every buddy and bans any adult or non-platonic behaviour.
04
How much does it cost to rent a friend in India?
▾
Each buddy sets their own hourly rate, up to ₹2,000 per hour. You pay with RentaBuddy wallet credits (1 Credit = ₹1), and the amount is held in escrow until the session is completed.
05
How does Rent a Buddy work?
▾
Browse Buddy profiles, pick a service, select your date and time, and send a booking request. Once the Buddy accepts, you pay to confirm. After the session, both parties can rate the experience.
06
How do I become a Buddy?
▾
Apply through the app, complete identity verification, and submit your profile for review. Once approved, you can receive booking requests and earn up to ₹2000 per hour for your sessions.
07
Is Rent a Buddy safe?
▾
Yes. All Buddies are verified before going live. Payments are held in secure escrow and only released after service completion. You have a 24-hour window after every session to raise a dispute.
08
What payment methods are accepted?
▾
Service bookings are paid with Rent a Buddy Wallet Credits. Recharge your wallet first if you need more Credits before confirming a service request.
09
How do I contact support?
▾
Email us at rentabuddy.site@gmail.com or use the in-app chat support.
10
How do I book a Buddy?
▾
Go to a Buddy's profile, select a service, choose your date and time, and send a request. Once the Buddy accepts, you pay to confirm the booking.
11
What happens after the Buddy accepts?
▾
You'll get a notification to pay from the service request card in chat. If your wallet has enough Credits, the booking is confirmed instantly. If not, recharge Credits first and then confirm payment.
12
When does the Buddy get paid?
▾
Not immediately. Your payment goes into escrow. After the Buddy marks the session complete, there is a 24-hour dispute window. If no dispute is raised, funds are automatically released to the Buddy's wallet.
13
What are the platform rules?
▾
Rent a Buddy is for lawful social companionship only. Users must not request escort services, sexual activity, or any illegal conduct. Violations result in immediate account suspension.
14
What happens if rules are violated?
▾
Violations lead to account suspension or a permanent ban. Pending earnings or wallet Credits may be forfeited depending on the severity.
15
What is the refund policy?
▾
Cancel more than 24 hours before the meetup → 100% refund. Cancel between 6 and 24 hours before the meetup → 50% refund. Cancel less than 6 hours before the meetup → 0% refund. If the Buddy cancels or doesn't show → 100% refund.
16
How are refunds processed?
▾
All refunds are credited back to your Rent a Buddy Wallet immediately upon approval. Cash refunds to your original payment method are not offered unless required by law.
17
How do I raise a dispute?
▾
After a session is marked complete, you have 24 hours to raise a dispute through the app. Funds stay in escrow until the dispute is resolved by our team.
18
How do Credits work?
▾
Credits are Rent a Buddy's internal currency. 1 Credit = ₹1. They're used to pay for bookings and to receive your Buddy earnings. Top up via Razorpay anytime.
19
Do Credits expire?
▾
No. Credits in your wallet do not have an expiry date.
20
Can I transfer Credits?
▾
No. Credits are tied to your account and cannot be transferred to another user.
21
How do Buddies withdraw their earnings?
▾
Go to the Wallet section and request a payout to your registered UPI ID. Processing typically takes 1–3 business days. If a payout is flagged for a routine security check by the payment gateway, please do not panic — your funds are safe and will be processed within 24 to 72 hours. If a payout ultimately fails, the amount is automatically returned to your wallet.
22
What are the platform fees?
▾
Rent a Buddy charges a single flat 23% Platform Fee on completed bookings, which is all-inclusive (covering platform charges, transaction charges, and applicable GST). This fee is automatically deducted from the Buddy's final payout at settlement.
23
Is RentaBuddy a girlfriend on rent or boyfriend on rent service?
▾
No. RentaBuddy is a strictly platonic companionship platform. While people searching for "girlfriend on rent" or "boyfriend on rent" in India often actually want social companionship, RentaBuddy provides exactly that — verified, safe, professional companionship for events, outings, travel, and conversation. No romantic or physical services are offered.
24
Can I book a buddy just to talk?
▾
Yes. You can book a verified buddy for a café chat, a walk or a video call if you just want company and conversation. Buddies are friendly companions, not therapists or counsellors — for mental health concerns, please consult a qualified professional.
25
How does RentaBuddy compare with other apps like KoPartner or HumanOnRent?
▾
We can only speak for RentaBuddy: every buddy passes a government ID check, payments are held in escrow until the session is complete, you get a 24-hour window to raise a dispute, and pricing is transparent with wallet credits (1 Credit = ₹1).
26
Is RentaBuddy real or a scam?
▾
RentaBuddy is a real platform. Payments go through Razorpay and are held in escrow until your session is complete, every buddy is ID-verified, and you can raise a dispute within 24 hours. We never ask you to pay a buddy directly by QR code or personal wallet — if anyone does, it is not RentaBuddy.
27
What should I look for in a rent a friend app in India?
▾
Look for ID-verified profiles, payments held in escrow (never paid directly to the person), a clear refund and dispute policy, and a strict platonic-only rule. RentaBuddy offers all four across 13+ Indian cities.
28
Can I rent a friend for a wedding or event in India?
▾
Yes! RentaBuddy is perfect for renting a companion for weddings, parties, office events, and social gatherings. Our Event Plus-One service connects you with verified, well-groomed companions who can accompany you as a confident plus-one. All bookings are strictly platonic with escrow-protected payments.
29
How can I earn money as a companion on RentaBuddy?
▾
Sign up as a buddy on RentaBuddy, complete ID verification, set your hourly rate (up to ₹2,000/hour), and start accepting bookings. You get paid via escrow after every session. It's a flexible side hustle — work when you want, in your city.
