1Introduction
Rent a Buddy is an India-focused social companionship platform for friendship bookings, social meetups, event companions, and rent-a-friend services for lawful social purposes only (“Rent a Buddy Services”). The person providing the social companionship service is called a “Member”. By using the website or app, you (“User” or “You”) agree to these Terms.
⚠️Rent a Buddy is only for legal social companionship. It is not an escort service, adult service, sexual services platform, marriage bureau, or employment agency.
2Roles
Rent a Buddy is a technology platform that helps Users connect with Members for lawful social meetings. When a booking is made or accepted, the contract is directly between the User and the Member. Rent a Buddy is not a party to the offline meeting, except that we may collect and process payments through the platform. Members have the opportunity to earn up to ₹2000 per hour for their companionship services.
We do not guarantee the quality, safety, timing, legality, accuracy, behavior, or suitability of any User, Member, listing, review, or meetup. We may review, remove, edit, restrict, suspend, or investigate any account, listing, booking, message, or content to protect the platform, stop fraud, follow the law, or enforce these Terms.
3Binding Agreement
These Terms form a legally binding electronic agreement between You and Rent a Buddy. We may update these Terms at any time by posting the new version on the website or app. Your continued use of the Service after any update means You accept the revised Terms.
3.1Referral Program
Rent a Buddy offers a referral program (“Share & Earn”) that rewards existing users for inviting new Members (Buddies) to join the platform. The program is subject to the following rules:
Referrer Bonus (10%): When a referred Buddy completes their first eligible service that settles successfully, the referrer earns 10% of the Buddy's net earning (after platform fee deduction) as a bonus credited to their Wallet earnings. Welcome Bonus (₹50): The referred Buddy receives a one-time ₹50 Welcome Bonus credited to their Wallet earnings upon their first eligible settled service. Minimum Booking Threshold: Referral and welcome bonuses are only triggered when the first settled service amount is at least ₹500. Services below this threshold do not qualify for any referral rewards. One-Time Bonus: The referrer earns a bonus on only the first eligible settled service per referred Buddy (maximum 1 bonus per referral). Bind Window: The referral code must be applied within 7 days of the referred Buddy's signup. Earn Window: The referred Buddy's first eligible service must settle within 45 days of the referral bind date. ⚠️Anti-Abuse: Self-referral, fake bookings, and any attempt to manipulate the referral system (including creating multiple accounts or colluding to generate artificial transactions) will result in forfeiture of all referral bonuses and may lead to account suspension. Rent a Buddy reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the referral program at any time.
ℹ️Referral bonuses are credited to your Wallet as withdrawable earnings. Standard withdrawal rules apply — including the minimum withdrawal threshold shown in the app. Bonuses cannot be transferred between accounts.
4Eligibility
⚠️YOU MAY NOT USE THE SERVICE IF YOU ARE UNDER EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OF AGE, DO NOT HAVE LEGAL CAPACITY TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT, OR ARE NOT PERMITTED TO USE THE SERVICE UNDER APPLICABLE LAW. By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and legally competent to enter into this Agreement.
5Terms of Use
By downloading, browsing, accessing, or using the Rent a Buddy website or mobile application, You agree to these Terms. If You do not agree, You must stop using the Service immediately. Continued use of the Service means You accept these Terms and any updates.
6User Conduct
In using the Service, You agree to act lawfully, respectfully, and responsibly. YOU WILL NOT:
Use the Service to harass, threaten, abuse, stalk, cheat, or defraud anyone; Use the Service for any illegal, harmful, exploitative, or unsafe purpose; Use the Service for escorting, prostitution, sexual services, trafficking, or paid intimacy of any kind; Use the Service in any way involving a minor or upload content showing any person below 18 years of age; Post pornographic, sexually explicit, obscene, violent, hateful, offensive, or unlawful content; Post false, misleading, fake, manipulated, or defamatory content or information; Impersonate another person or use someone else’s image, identity, or details without permission; Send spam, unsolicited messages, bulk messages, or misleading promotional messages; Create multiple fake accounts or use false names, temporary emails, or fake phone numbers; Collect, store, share, sell, or misuse another user’s personal data without consent; Refuse to provide genuine identification or information if we reasonably ask for it for safety or verification; Take users off-platform to avoid our payment, moderation, or safety process without authorization; Break any law, payment rule, consumer rule, privacy rule, anti-discrimination rule, or child safety rule; Operate a business, agency, escort network, referral network, or commercial service through the platform; Use bots, crawlers, scrapers, malware, viruses, or similar tools on the platform; Copy, reverse engineer, frame, mirror, resell, or build a competing service from the platform; Attempt unauthorized access to the Service, systems, data, or other accounts; or Help anyone else do any of the above. 7.1Cancellation & Refund
Once both parties receive the booking confirmation message on the platform, the meetup is treated as scheduled.

Refunds are issued in Credits. In a verified dispute, if Rent a Buddy finds that one party is the affected user or Victim, Rent a Buddy may apply an additional 5% dispute penalty on the disputed booking amount in favour of the Victim.

✅In all cases, Rent a Buddy’s decision on refunds, credits, disputes, penalties, and account actions shall be final for platform purposes, subject to applicable law.
ℹ️How refunds are issued: All refunds are credited back to your Rent a Buddy Wallet (Credits) immediately upon approval (e.g. automatic cancellation). Credits can be used for future bookings on the platform. Cash refunds to your original payment method are not offered unless required by law. A 24-hour dispute window applies after a service is marked complete, during which users can raise issues.
7.2Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Rent a Buddy, its affiliates, directors, employees, agents, and service providers from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses, including legal fees, arising from Your use of the Service, Your content, Your conduct, Your bookings, or Your breach of these Terms or applicable law.
8Disclaimer
You use the Service at Your own risk. Rent a Buddy does not guarantee that the Service, any booking, any meetup, or any user interaction will meet Your expectations, be uninterrupted, be fully secure, or be free from error.
Rent a Buddy is not responsible for User Content posted, uploaded, or shared by any User, Member, or third party. We do not control offline conduct and are not responsible for what happens during or after any meetup.
9Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Rent a Buddy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or similar damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of reputation, or losses arising from bookings, cancellations, delays, no-shows, disputes, or offline interactions.
Our total liability for all claims connected with the Service shall not exceed the higher of: (i) the amount paid by You to Rent a Buddy in the 6 months before the claim; or (ii) INR 8,000.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10Changes to Terms of Service
Rent a Buddy may change these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on the website or app. You should review them regularly.
11Violations of Terms of Service

12Copyright Infringement
If any content, image, photo, video, or material on the platform violates Your copyright or other intellectual property rights, please notify Rent a Buddy immediately at rentabuddy.site@gmail.com.
13Disputes
If You have a dispute with a Member or another user, You agree not to hold Rent a Buddy liable for claims, demands, losses, or damages arising out of that dispute, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
Rent a Buddy may ask both parties for screenshots, chat records, booking details, payment proofs, ID documents, or other supporting material before deciding a dispute. Failure to cooperate may affect the result of the dispute review.
Our Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not promise that the content, profiles, listings, or platform materials are always complete, accurate, current, or error-free.
14Entire Agreement
These Terms are the complete agreement between Rent a Buddy and You regarding Your use of the website, app, and Service, and replace all earlier discussions or understandings on the same subject.
15Jurisdiction and Choice of Laws
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the arbitration clause below, the courts having jurisdiction over the place of the Company’s registered office in India shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably. If not resolved, it shall be referred to arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat and venue of arbitration shall be in India, in the city where the Company’s registered office is located, unless otherwise decided by the Company in writing. The arbitration shall be conducted in English by a sole arbitrator.
16How Payments Work
When a Buddy accepts your booking, you will be prompted to pay to confirm it. Our payment system works as follows:
Step 1 — Price Lock: The price you pay is always calculated from the original booking details (service name, duration, and rate) on our secure servers. The price cannot be altered by anyone after the request is created. Step 2 — Wallet First: The system automatically checks your Rent a Buddy Wallet (Credits) balance. If you have enough Credits, the full amount is deducted instantly and the booking is confirmed with no payment gateway involved. 1 Credit = ₹1. Step 3 — Hybrid Checkout (if balance is low): If your Wallet balance is insufficient, we lock whatever Credits you do have (so they cannot be spent elsewhere), calculate the shortfall, and direct you to Razorpay to pay only the remaining amount via UPI, card, or net banking. Step 4 — Escrow Hold: Once payment is confirmed (whether by Credits or Razorpay), the full amount is held in a secure escrow on the platform. The Buddy does not receive the money at this point. Step 5 — Service Delivery & Dispute Window: After the Buddy marks the service as complete, a 24-hour dispute window opens. If you have a genuine issue, you can raise a dispute during this window. After 24 hours with no dispute, the funds are released automatically. ⚠️Platform Fee: Rent a Buddy charges a single flat 23% platform fee on each completed booking. This fee is all-inclusive, covering platform service charges, payment gateway transaction charges, and applicable GST. This fee is automatically deducted from the Buddy's payout at the time of settlement, not from the User's initial payment.
✅All payment processing (UPI, cards, net banking) is handled by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. Rent a Buddy does not store your card or UPI credentials.
17Member (Buddy) Withdrawals
When a booking settles successfully (after the 24-hour dispute window closes with no dispute), the Buddy’s earnings — net of the Rent a Buddy platform fee — are credited to their Rent a Buddy Wallet (Credits).
How to withdraw: Members can request a payout to their registered UPI ID from the Wallet section of the app. Withdrawals are processed via Razorpay Payouts. Minimum withdrawal: A minimum threshold applies to withdrawal requests. The current minimum is shown in the app at the time of withdrawal. Processing time & Security Checks: Payouts are typically processed within 1–3 business days. If your withdrawal is flagged for a security or risk purpose check by the payment gateway, please do not panic — your funds are secure and will be processed in the next 24 to 72 hours following the review. One withdrawal at a time: A new withdrawal request cannot be placed while a prior withdrawal is still processing. The system enforces a single active withdrawal lock per account. Failed payouts: If a payout attempt fails (e.g., incorrect UPI ID, bank rejection), the amount is automatically credited back to your Rent a Buddy Wallet with no loss of funds. ℹ️Rent a Buddy is not a banking or payment institution. Wallet Credits are a closed-loop prepaid instrument used solely on this platform and are governed by applicable RBI guidelines on prepaid payment instruments.
18Membership & Credits
₹99/ month
Rent a Buddy offers one membership plan at ₹99/month. Separate from membership, the platform operates an internal Wallet (Credits) system (1 Credit = ₹1) used for booking payments and Buddy earnings. Credits can be topped up via Razorpay and are non-transferable between accounts.
Membership fees already paid are generally non-refundable, except where a refund is expressly provided under these Terms or required by applicable law.
19Cancellation Policy
If Rent a Buddy suspends or terminates Your account because of fraud, safety concerns, misuse of the platform, payment risk, illegal activity, or breach of these Terms, You will not be entitled to a refund of any remaining membership period or credits, except where required by law.
